First Week Of August Roadwork

Some Caltrans road projects will impact traffic in the Mother Lode this week, from August 3rd to the 9th.

On Highway 49 there will be one-way traffic control at night from Church Street/Pine Street to Copello Drive for k-rail installation beginning Sunday though Friday from 9:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. The work is part of the project to upgrade pedestrian facilities on Highway 49 to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act standards. Construction of a new intersection signal, curb ramps, and sidewalks are expected to take approximately 14 months. George Reed, Inc. of Modesto, CA will perform the work on this $8 million project.

On Highway 49 one-way traffic control from Highway 12 to Avenue B for tree work beginning Monday and continuing through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

On Highway 108 one-way traffic control between Leisure Drive and Ridge Trail Road in Me-WuK Village for drainage work beginning Monday, August 4, through Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

On Highway 120 there will be one-way traffic control between Deer Flat Road and Ferretti Road in Groveland for K-rail installation on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

On Highway 4 there will be one-way traffic control from Bonanza Mine Way to Appaloosa Road for highway construction work Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

On Highway 4 there will be one-way traffic control from Strawberry Hill Road to Forest Meadows Drive for drainage work Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

On Highway 12 at Central Hill Road there will be one-way traffic control for utility work on Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

On Highway 26 the long-term one-way traffic control from Gill Haven Drive to Rich Gulch Lane for highway construction work will continue.

On Highway 26 one-way traffic control from Lafayette Street to Prindle Road for tree work on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

On Highway 26 one-way traffic control from Montgomery Drive to Gill Haven Drive for highway construction work beginning Monday, August 4, 2025, through Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., and on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. –

On Highway 26 one-way traffic control from Lower Dorray Road to Ridge Road for tree work on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

On Highway 26 one-way traffic control at South Fork Mokelumne River Bridge for highway construction work on Thursday, August 8, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., and on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5 to 10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible.

Road projects are subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction-related issues. Caltrans asks motorists to obey signage and flaggers while slowing down around crews and equipment in the cone zones.
